Virginia Man Charged With Murder After Assault Victim Dies Days Later In Annandale: Police
A Virginia man is facing a murder charge after police say he assaulted a man who later died from his injuries.
Detectives from Fairfax County’s Major Crimes Bureau arrested Elmar Waldemar Xitumul Vasquez, 39, of Annandale, in connection with the death of Elmer Castro, 32, of no fixed address, police confirmed.
According to detectives, Castro was rushed to the hospital by paramedics on Aug. 4 with injuries believed to be from a fall while intoxicated.
His condition quickly declined, and he died eight days later, police said.

Vicky Vien Phung, 36, was arrested Monday after detectives linked her to a robbery at a bank in the 7000 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale, according to Fairfax County Police.

A 71-year-old driver has been arrested in connection to a triple fatal crash in Fairfax County in February, authorities announced on Wednesday.
Tei Hu, 71, of Fairfax, was attempting to make a left turn onto the westbound lanes of Braddock Road from Badfield Drive in Annadale on Feb. 4 and was struck by a vehicle heading east on Braddock Road, leading to a crash that resulted in three deaths.
